'The Little Sushi That Could' is a 2D Platformer, about a little sushi with big ambitions! In this casual platforming game, the player starts out as a cute little ball of rice. The objective is to become a sushi at the end of the level! The player starts out as a ball of rice and collects ingredients on the way. Each ingredient also grants a different ability to change the character's movement.

Do you have what it takes to be the ultimate sushi?

This platformer was made by a team of four Game Development students as part of the Unit Term Project at Centre for Entertainment Arts, British Columbia.

Legitimately one of the most enjoyable platformers I've played in a long time. The little sushi controls pretty well, and the levels are well laid out. I was really happy with how the plate mechanic is foreshadowed by the already cracked plates on the ground, it's a nice level of polish and care in the visuals.

The only issue I had was the hit detection on the horned sushi enemy felt a bit off, but that might have just been me being bad at the game. I think some additional post-processing visual effects and more distinction between the foreground and background could really take this game to the next level, the character sprites and backgrounds are already pretty great.

Definitely a project I want to return to in the future for some quick fun platforming!

Hey! Thank you for the kinds words, Eugene! I also really appreciate the feedback! I'll pass it on to my team so we can check those out. The hitbox of the horned sushi might indeed be a little small, I'll check tehm out. Thanks again! =D
